George Bailey Gets a New Bed

Getting up in years, our pet George, a cocker spaniel of 11 years, is having a hard time getting off the couch where his bed used to reside. Frequently he would fall at the end of his dismount from the couch.
With this in mind, I have designed a bed for George seen here. I had three pieces of oak from the log mill. They were 1 inch by 8 inches by 11 feet in size. We used most of that.
Now George has a stylish place for his pillow to stay and he can easily step in and out of it. Also, his bed is lifted off the floor a few inches so that he is off the cold floor in the winter.
On Monday Morning, August 1, 2011 at about 7:30 AM our dear puppy George passed away at the age of 12 years old.
